    Showa era sweets shop

Chigusa is a confectioner in Kasukabe City known for their monaka and dorayaki sweets. The city is noted for the craft of oshi hagoita, battledore paddles decorated with elaborate images created with fabric applique. The paddles depict heroes, maidens, sumo, and classic movie stars. Chigusa makes hagoita monaka, which uses the hagoita motif. The monaka are filled with bean paste and either mochi or a chestnut. The shop is just a few steps from Ichonowari Station on the Tobu Skytree line.
